This class is designed for the beginner to provide adults with an opportunity to learn pottery hand building / sculpturing using various techniques such as: slab construction, coil pots, pinch pots, surface texture, and clay impression. Students will paint or glaze their projects that they will accomplish during the session. Introduction to wheel-thrown pottery also included (centering, pulling walls, shaping and trimming). Project ideas will be offered each class, but each participant always has the opportunity to work on a project of their choice. This is supported and encouraged. No prior ceramics or clay experience is required. Each student works at his/her own pace. No prior ceramics or clay experience is required. For those students continuing from previous sessions, they will be encouraged to expand on what they have learned and take projects in their own direction.
